About our Founder and CEO
Joseph K. Schulman is an entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of two local businesses, Gold Bond Building Services, Inc. and Rest Assured Ultraviolet Sanitary Systems, Inc. After graduation from Franklin and Marshall College in 1975, Joe taught English at Lakewood High School and served as the JV baseball coach and junior class advisor. Three years later he moved on to work in several other jobs before founding Gold Bond in 1983. Today, Gold Bond Building Services has the distinction of being among the oldest and most respected building maintenance and janitorial service companies in Ocean and/or Monmouth Counties and provides services for many high profile and long term clients, including, we are very proud to say, First Energy Park, home of the Lakewood Blueclaws, the single A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
In March of 1998, Mr. Schulman conceived of and founded his second company, Rest Assured UV Sanitary Systems, (www.restassured.com) to promote and develop the market for high-tech, ultraviolet light based sanitation technologies, equipment and devices, all aimed at improving sanitation and public health. Recognizing the important role that ultraviolet light could potentially play in both sanitary inspection technology and also, even more significantly, in personal and institutional disinfection and infection control applications, he was among the first to tout its wide-spread use. His industry changing ideas and subsequent business success have resulted in greater public awareness of the value of ultraviolet sanitation technologies for the consumer, industry and institutions and has led to many new ultraviolet sanitary inspection and disinfection products coming into both the consumer and commercial marketplace. Mr. Schulman's goal of enhancing of the public health and wellness and of improving cleaning and sanitation practices in industrial, institutional and commercial industries is being realized today, through his companies and beyond, more than ever.
Mr. Schulman and his wife, Kerri, have three sons, Paul, age 23, Nicholas, age 16 and Michael, age 14 and they reside in Jackson, NJ.
