“COMPANY OFFERING MOBILE ULTRAVIOLET DISINFECTION PRODUCTS AND SERVICES” Gold Bond Building Services, Inc. and its subsidiary, Rest Assured UV Sanitary Systems announce that they have jointly developed and are now offering mobile, ultraviolet and photo-catalytic disinfection and decontamination services for the home, office and institutional workplace. Gold Bond Building Services founder, Joseph K. Schulman, claims his is first and only company to offer these services to the general public or to institutions in our area. According to Mr. Schulman, who is the CEO of both companies, the idea to offer these services is a natural outgrowth of their core businesses, commercial and institutional building sanitation services and systems. Schulman predicts a steadily rising demand for such services in the face of the mounting personal and public health challenges presented by antibiotic resistant microbes, mold related illnesses and even pandemic disease threats. According to Mr. Schulman, ultraviolet disinfection is a well established and proven technique for disinfecting rooms and spaces that may be harboring infectious germs. “Germicidal UV light technology has been used for many years and has been shown to be very effective at controlling germ populations in places such as hospital operating rooms and clinics, pharmaceutical manufacturing and other clean-room operations where it is absolutely critical to keep the air and surfaces as clean as possible.”, Schulman said. “The technology is now portable so we can bring it into the home, office or other places, such as athletic facilities, a day care center or a pediatrics office and safely disinfect all of the surfaces there, as well as the air on an “as needed” or periodic, scheduled basis.”, he said. “As a supplement to regular disinfection routines, this technology is capable preventing or greatly reducing the spread of airborne and surface borne illnesses causing microbes before they become a problem.” In addition to germicidal ultraviolet disinfection, the company’s process includes the use of a NASA developed air disinfection technology known as “photo-catalytic oxidation”. This is a new, pathogen destruction and area sanitizing technology that features an EPA approved and FDA registered Class II medical system designed for NASA's International Space Station. It utilizes a totally safe, self-contained “photo catalytic reactor” which processes incoming air in combination with UVGI (ultraviolet germicidal irradiation). When deployed in a home, office or other space, this system will destroy virtually any microorganism, pathogen, spore, VOC or organic odor and produce virtually pure air, according to Mr. Schulman and the product's manufacturer, KesAir Technologies of Atlanta. (see www.airocide.com) The equipment, which looks like a flat, stainless steel panel, completely oxidizes all organic matter that is drawn through its dual PCO/UVGI reactor chambers, including bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi, VOC’S, (volatile organic compounds), and organic odors, leaving nothing behind but trace amounts of CO 2 and water vapor. According to Schulman, it is the same technology that will be going back to the moon to safeguard the lives of our future astronauts. “Considering the current and potential future threats to the public health posed by such problem microorganisms as MRSA, SARS and even the latest strain of INFLUENZA we believe that making this state-of-the-art technology and service available on a mobile basis will be very attractive to the public and to industry”, Schulman said.
